Bio

Ravae Sinclair is dedicated to helping families through her work as a birth doula, postpartum doula, lactation professional, and childbirth educator. With more than 20 years of experience as a doula and 6 years as a Lamaze certified childbirth educator, Ravae has supported more than 780 families as they birth and nurture their babies.

Ravae Sinclair is the founder of Birth Connections- a full-service birth support group that spans 3 cities and serves nearly 50 families each year.  In addition to supporting families, Ravae builds community by serving as a doula mentor, birth business coach, doula trainer, and diversity, equity, inclusion & belonging (DEIB) professional. Being the first Black President of DONA International, Ravae uses her connections to create collaborations and with woman-led organizations working to improve the quality of life for U.S. families.

Born and raised in Milwaukee, WI, Ravae was one of Wisconsin’s earliest certified hospital-based birth doulas. Before becoming a doula, Ravae received a Political Science degree from University of Wisconsin (Madison, WI) and a law degree from Marquette University Law School (Milwaukee, WI). She spent 7 years of her early professional life as an attorney for the Public Defender's Office-Milwaukee Trial where she represented indigent clients in misdemeanor, felony, and drug treatment court cases.

Ravae continues her advocacy and support of birthing people with a focus on Black, multi-ethnic and marginalized families most impacted by inequities in the U.S. healthcare system. When not traveling for doula and DEIB work, Ravae lives outside of Atlanta, GA, and is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
