Hello friend,
I am a certified birth doula, Lamaze certified childbirth educator, and an Evidence Based Birth® Instructor. I started this journey five years ago and hit the ground running in my community. Living in rural America, not many people knew what a doula was, so I set out to educate and support my community.
Along the way I have also taught classes for a non-profit pregnancy crisis center, helped the Kentucky Birth Coalition (who is responsible for passing legislation in 2019 to license Certified Professional Midwives), and have been active in other state advocacy efforts such as working to help doulas be covered by Medicaid.
I have also sat as the Legislative Action Chairwoman for DONA International from 2019-current and am currently sitting as the Kentucky State Ambassdor until the end of 2021. I am currently working on expanding access to doula support in my own region by starting a doula collective and mentoring new doulas through the process of growing their own practices.
My heart is in advocacy and educating, and I'm always happy to chat to support others along their journies.
